ENHANCING EMPLOYABILITY: with JobStreet.com CEO and Industry Experts
The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Alumni, Malaysian Chapter, cordially invites you to meet the industry experts who will share their findings and thoughts of the current employment market. Take this opportunity to hear from the experts as they highlight the methods to develop, implement and evaluate a range of strategies designed to enhance the employability skills of job seekers and graduates across a diverse range of industries.
About The Topic….
In an increasingly competitive and volatile employment market it is vital that both job seekers and graduates are equipped with skills that enable them to maximise their potential for a successful career. The Government's aim to increase higher education participation among 18-30 year olds to 50% by 2020 and changes in the industrial structure of the country will have profound effects on the type of work graduates will engage in. As the number of graduates entering the workforce and job seekers making career changes increase, so will competition for jobs intensify.
Also, the decline in the proportion of people following traditional career paths in large national/global organisations and the emerging trends of service sector employment in small/medium-sized firms (or self-employment) has implications for the types of skills needed by them.
What Will You Achieve?....
- Define and assess the skills you have and those you would like to use at work or develop further
- Review strategies for finding work in the visible and hidden job market
- Gain insight into employers’ perspectives
