HR EXCELLENCE CATEGORY
(Large organizations with 300 employees and above)
This Award recognizes sustained and continuous commitment by organizations and corporations to the development of its human talent, in line with the nation’s need to develop a world-class workforce, in the last 12 months.
The criteria amongst others include:
- Quality of Human Resources Functions
- Alignment of HR Department’s work with company’s goal
- HR Development Strategy
- Best Practices in HR
- Continuous Learning and Training
- Application of HR System and Technology

THE AWARDS
The Awards will be presented in the following categories based on the standards of achievements attained by the organizations based on the above criteria:
- Achievements at Satisfactory rating
“Bronze Recognition”
- Achievements at Good rating
“Silver Recognition”
- Achievements at Very Good rating
“Gold Recognition”
- Best 3 among the
“Gold Recognition”
will be considered for the – “Grand Award”
FORM OF RECOGNITIONS
- All qualified participants will be awarded with a Certificate of recognition.
- The Best 3 of the “Gold Recognition” will also be awarded a coveted Plaque.
- The “Grand Award” winner will be allowed to use the award’s logo in all their communication and business activities for one (1) year

HR ACHIEVEMENT CATEGORY
(SMEs or organizations with fewer than 300 employees)
This Award recognizes a sustained commitment by SMEs or local organizations to the development of its human talent, in line with the nation’s need to develop an efficient and professional workforce, in the last 12 months.
The criteria amongst others include:
- HR Development Strategy
- Best Practices in HR
- Continuous Learning and Training
- Application of HR System and Technology
- Recognition of HR as strategic resource in the growth of the organization

BEST EMPLOYER’S CATEGORY
(Exclusively for Banking and Financial Services Institutions)
This Award is to recognize the best employer in the Banking and Financial Services Institutions that has the best HR practices. Organizations may make submissions exclusively for this Award or make submissions generally ,for the general Awards and inclusive of this.
The criteria amongst others include:
- Quality of Human Resources Functions
- Alignment of HR Department’s work with company’s goal
- HR Development Strategy
- Best Practices in HR
- Continuous Learning and Training
- Application of HR System and Technology

THE AWARDS

A Plaque and Certificate will be presented to the winner of the category. The Award winner will also be allowed to use the award’s logo in all their communication and business activities for one (1) year.

HR LEADER CATEGORY
(Individual award)
This Award recognizes individual professionals who have made an outstanding contribution to Human Resource Management, in the context of Malaysia’s Vision 2020.
The criteria amongst others include:
- The nominees will be a HR Practitioner/Professional who is involved in providing direction and support of the whole spectrum of HR initiatives, implementation and development within their organization.
- The nominees will be involved in the Human Resource Management position for a minimum of 5 years and has gained recognition as a Leader in the HR community.
- The nominee must be able to demonstrate an outstanding HR achievement or project, which was completed or impacted the organization’s business in the last 12 months. The achievement must have also impacted positively on the employees of the business, contributed to employees’ development, and/or supported the organization’s competitiveness.
- Endorsement from CEO/MD/Chairman/Executive Director of present organization is essential.

A Plaque and Certificate will be presented to the winner of the HR Leader Award.

YOUNG HR LEADER CATEGORY
(Individual award)
This Award recognizes young individual professionals who have made an outstanding contribution to Human Resource Management, in the context of Malaysia’s Vision 2020.
The criteria amongst others include:
- The nominees will be a HR Practitioner/Professional, below 30 years of age who is involved in providing direction and support of the whole spectrum of HR initiatives, implementation and development within their organization.
- The nominees will be involved in the Human Resource Management or Executive position for a minimum of 3 years and is a emerging Leader in the HR Community.
- The nominee must be able to demonstrate an outstanding HR achievement or project, which was completed or impacted the organization’s business in the last 12 months. The achievement must have also impacted positively on the employees of the business, contributed to employees’ development, and/or supported the organization’s competitiveness.
- Endorsement from CEO/MD/Chairman/Executive Director of present organization is essential.

HR AUTHOR CATEGORY
This Award recognizes individual professional’s who have made an outstanding contribution to Human Resource Management or Human Capital Development in Malaysia, through their publication of books, in the last two years, in the context of Malaysia’s Vision 2020 and in line with the nation’s need to develop a world class workforce.
The criteria amongst others include:
- Impact of the information to the HR Community
- Depth of research done
- Popularity of the book
- Meets the current trends

A Plaque and Certificate of recognition will be presented to the winner of the HR Author Award.

HR INNOVATION CATEGORY
(Open to all Organizations)
This Award recognizes organizations that have successfully implemented new or re-engineered HR initiatives or transformed traditional HR practices, products or concepts that have contributed to higher productivity, efficiency, and cost in the organization.
The criteria amongst others include:
- Originality of the initiatives
- Usefulness of the innovation application to the HR Community
- Impact to productivity/operations efficiency
- Enhances HR capabilities

PUBLIC SECTOR CATEGORY
(Open to all Organizations)
This Award recognizes organizations in the Public Sector with excellent Human Resource Management.

PRESENTATION OF THE AWARDS

All the Awards above will be presented at a highly publicized evening event, attended by members of the business community, HRM community and invited guests under the Patronage of the Minister of Human Resources.

Publicity will be given to the winners of the Award by direct communication with the HRM fraternity and media coverage with the general business and HR community.
THE AWARD PROCESS
To organize Awards of this community nature can be quite controversial, and that the process by which selection is made is often criticized. Accordingly, we will make every reasonable effort to ensure that the process is objective and professional, taking into consideration the desired objective of raising standards in managing human resources ; and in line with the nation’s need to develop a world-class workforce. Additionally, we will take a considerable effort to make the process very transparent, by inviting many organizational Leaders to participate in the selection process.
This includes:

Setting up a web site containing up-to-date information about the Award.
Obtaining as much publicity as possible

Communicating directly with a large number of organization, both by letter, email, and even over the telephone.

Facilitating group discussions around the country, and in Kuala Lumpur, to inform about the award, and promote participation.
