Dear Valued Customer,
It has come to our attention that certain job boards are copying jobs advertisements without permission from various sources in order to post them on their own job sites. In fact for some of the times, the positions advertised have already been closed and no vacancies were available.
As you may not be aware of these unauthorised postings, the result is frustrated candidates who will get no response from you since the applications are not forwarded to you. This certainly will do little for your employer branding efforts but what’s worse is that these unscrupulous job boards are using your job postings to collect resumes from candidates without your knowledge and permission.
What you can do:
Here are some things you can do to keep such practice from happening.
- Put your Company name on Google Alert. If a position from your company is advertised online you will be alerted. For more information, please visit http://www.google.com.my/alerts
- Do insist that the offending job board remove the advertisement and demand to take back all resumes resulting from the posting. This way you will have the opportunity to explain to the candidates concerned.
- Remember that misrepresentations of this nature are unlawful and you can seek legal redress from the offending job board.
Such unprofessional practices are likely to be more rampant during this depressed job market as unethical job boards exploit the situation to build up their job seeker database.
We hope you will be vigilant and protect your company’s name. Put a stop to these offenders who use your company’s name to dupe unsuspecting job seekers. Please contact us if you are unsure of what to do. We will be more than happy to assist.
Yours truly,
Customer Care Team
