Responsibility:

The candidate's primary responsibility will be development and implementation of methodologies and techniques to enhance quality and usability of image sensors in Flextronics products.

The candidate will use knowledge of image sensor design as well as packaging and qualification methodologies for silicon and packages to accomplish this responsibility. At the component level, the individual will work with other functional disciplines to develop specifications for image sensor components. He/she will participate in component vendor selection activity and will be responsible for component qualification activity for image sensors. The candidate will be expected to use knowledge of process capability for electronic component production as well as system-level performance requirements to establish critical to quality performance metrics. Person in this role will be responsible for facilitating decisions for low cost part procurement strategies while maintaining component performance standards and minimize reliability risk.

Candidate will be responsible to interface with manufacturing and component suppliers to develop strategy for qualification and standardizing methodologies and processes. Candidate will be responsible for monitoring product performance in the field and will work closely with manufacturing and component vendors to perform failure analysis and drive corrective action, as necessary.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The Senior Component Engineer (Sensors) will:

• Support development and manufacturing teams to select image sensor components to meet product design requirements
• Ensure that selected components meet all fit, form, and function requirements
• Drive vendors to align with Flextronics IQC and final test requirements
• Ensure that the components meet all reliability, certification, and regulatory requirements including timely failure analysis
• Identify alternate source vendors as required
• Keep relevant documents up to date in Flextronics document systems
• Identify cost reduction opportunities on component costs
• Benchmark and meet with vendors on new technologies and lower-cost solutions
• Development of component cost models and roadmaps
• Some amount of travel (domestic and overseas) will be required
