Silicone Compression Molding Engineer
Responsibilities:
1) Involved in the material preparation for Compression mold section.
2) Responsible for the design, development, and optimization of rubber and silicone compression molds.
3) Involved working closely with production teams to ensure that molds meet quality, efficiency, and production standards.
4) Oversee the fabrication and assembly of molds, ensuring they are constructed to design specifications and quality standards.
5) Work closely with the quality control team to establish and maintain quality standards for molded products.
6) Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to mold design, process efficiency, and product quality.
7) Promoting the use of the process approach and risk-based thinking to ensure EMS/QMS remains effective and compliant.
8) To keep all company’s information which private and confidential (P&C).
9) Develop and uphold the implementation of the Company’s policies & SOP.
10) Enforce housekeeping is maintained at most favorable condition at all times.
11) Inform to superior if there is any un-foreseen problem happen in your workplace.
12) To take reasonable care to avoid injury to yourself or to others by your work activities.
13) To co-operate with employer and others in meeting statutory requirements.
14) To use and wear all the protective equipment provided at all times.
15) To comply all the rules on environmental and occupational safety & health.
Tasks:
1) To assist in the achievement of the Key Performance Indicator (KPI).
2) Data collecting and update the relevant record to ensure production quality, safety & environment standards are complied with.
3) Ensure availability of Work Instruction (W.I.) and related inspection standard are display with the machine.
4) To involve in stock-count and audit to ensure inventory data are recorded accurately.
5) Continues improvement the Production and related outputs compliance to its SOP and Quality.
6) Design and develop molds for rubber and silicone components, ensuring they meet product specifications and production requirements.
7) Select appropriate materials for mold construction, taking into consideration durability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
8) Collaborate with the R&D and product design teams to refine mold designs based on testing and feedback.
9) Analyse and optimize the rubber/silicone compression molding process to improve product quality, reduce cycle time, and minimize waste.
10) Work with production teams to develop and implement the process Work Instruction (WI) for the molding process.
11) Monitor and adjust process parameters to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to specifications.
12) Identify and resolve issues related to mold performance, including troubleshooting and implementing corrective actions.
13) Develop and implement maintenance schedules for molds to ensure their longevity and optimal performance.
14) Coordinate with maintenance teams to perform regular inspections, repairs, and upgrades on molds.
15) Maintain accurate records of mold maintenance activities and any modifications made.
16) Conduct trials and first-off samples to validate mold designs and processes before full-scale production.
17) Identify potential quality issues in the molding process and implement preventive measures.
18) Ensure that all molding processes comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
19) Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in rubber and silicone molding.
20) Recommend and implement new technologies or methods to enhance mold design and production processes.
21) Train and mentor production staff on best practices for rubber/silicone compression molding.
22) Participate in project meetings, providing technical expertise and contributing to problem-solving discussions.
23) To maintain proper filling for all respective documents.
24) Ensure the checklist/forms in use are compliance to EMS/QMS.
25) Perform other tasks / duties as assigned or required.
Minimum Requirements:
1) Diploma & above in Mechanical engineering / Material engineering / Manufacturing engineering or At least 3-5 years of working experience in similar field/position.
2) Having knowledge in ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO13485 & IATF16949 is a MUST.
3) Proficient Microsoft Office Skills.
4) Strong understanding of rubber and silicone material properties and molding processes.
5) Experience with process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
6) Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
7) Other competences: Responsibility & independently, pro-active, attentive, team player and computer literate
