TOOLING TECHNICIAN

SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS :

1. Responsible for continuous improvement of overall performance of Stamping, Plating, Backend and Assembly processes in meeting the defined targets, in line with the department’s goals and objectives.

2.  Responsible for all technical products, process specifications as well as Stamping, Plating, Backend and      Assembly    process parameter definition (process window). Carry out duties according to specifications, procedures and        instructions given.

3. To assist for new product and/or process evaluation and proper documentation.

4. To assist in carrying out engineering projects and evaluation to achieve excellence in product, process and equipment and thereafter initiate specification changes in liaison with product development group accordingly.

5. To assist in providing engineering and technical support to production on major trouble shooting and support in customer complaint analysis.

6. To perform scheduled preventive maintenance, set-up, test-run and trouble shooting on the assigned tool.

7.To be responsible for operation of tooling and tooling equipment availability in term of cost, delivery and quality.

8. To manage tooling equipment and tooling spare parts and carry out daily/ weekly and monthly update                         report and inform to superior.

9.  To perform tooling maintenance, tools trouble shooting, tool servicing, part replacement and prepare preventive maintenance report on the tool assigned.

10. To carry out CNC Milling Machine operation on fabrications of tooling spare parts, modification and servicing (cleaning and apply grease).

11. To be responsible for preparation of tool and spare parts as well as monitor and prepare inventory of spare parts for production use.

12. To monitor weekly on production equipment and tooling output, efficiency and quality.

13. To perform production machine trouble shooting and product conversion as planning.

14. To response for “On Call” and communication with superior for update information.

15. To study and improve occurrence problem at tooling or parts with superior.

16. To draft tool drawings as requested by engineer with reference to Standard Guidelines. 

17. To manage maintenance of all PEM generated drawings.

18. To prepare tool before and after production use (example: slit/grind mask belt and clean mask inserts for plating, polish/grind punches and inserts for stamping/backend/assembly).

19. To support monthly on general document updates for tooling. 

20. To support tooling buy-off updates, master list update for tools and accessories (example pressure pad, molding mask ratio).

21. To conduct cross section for quality confirmation.

22. To discuss with vendor on the stamping, plating coverage and backend/assembly finishing improvement project.

23. Update all documents of tool drawing to vendor with superior and re-buy off all incoming fabrication dimensional spare parts as per drawing requirements.

24. Responsible for on cost control of the section.

25. To maintain good housekeeping in the work area, proper document filing system and to replace, scrap plus any waste in the proper plan/place allocated.

26. To execute any other duties assigned by superior from time to time.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

1. Minimum SPM/SPVM/STPM, certificate/diploma in Engineering or equivalent.

2. Knowledge of Mechanical Drawing/Auto cad.

3. At least 1 year of working experience.

4. Able to work shift and stay back for overtimes.

5. Preferably with own transport.

6. Highly motivated person and have good knowledge in tooling materials, drawing and basic conceptual system operation.
