Site Safety Supervisor cum AGT

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Safety Supervisor cum AGT to join STRIVE FORCE EQUIPMENT & ENGINEERING SDN BHD on a full-time basis in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across all construction sites whilst also fulfilling AGT (Appointed Gas Tester) responsibilities. This position is critical to protecting our workforce, maintaining regulatory compliance and supporting the successful delivery of our construction projects.

Key responsibilities

1. Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive site safety policies, procedures and protocols in accordance with Malaysian construction safety regulations and standards

2. Conduct regular site inspections and hazard assessments to identify potential risks and implement corrective actions

3. Provide safety training and induction programmes to all site personnel, including workers, supervisors and management

4. Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and implementing preventative measures

5. Monitor and enforce the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment at all times

6. Maintain detailed safety records, statistics and documentation for audit and compliance purposes

7. Coordinate with project management and contractors to ensure safety is integrated into all project planning and execution

8. Perform AGT duties including testing confined spaces and monitoring atmospheric conditions as required

9. Liaise with relevant regulatory authorities and participate in safety audits and inspections

10. Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings to promote a strong safety culture on site

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 5 years' experience as a Site Safety Supervisor or equivalent role within the construction industry

2. Valid AGT (Appointed Gas Tester) certification or equivalent atmospheric testing qualification

3. Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian occupational safety and health legislation, particularly the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and Construction Industry Master Plan guidelines

4. Proficiency in hazard identification, risk assessment and incident investigation methodologies

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with workers at all levels

6. Strong organisational and documentation skills with attention to detail

7. Ability to work independently and make sound safety decisions under pressure

8. First Aid and CPR certification is highly desirable

9. Experience with safety management systems and software is advantageous

10. Fluency in English and Malay, both written and verbal
