What's it like to be an Android Developer?
Android Developers work closely and efficiently with other members of app development and technical teams such as software engineers and UI/UX designers in order to produce applications for the Android platform. They are expected to be familiar with the Android operating system.Tasks and duties
- Conceptualising and planning the development of applications that are suited and compatible with various Android devices.
- Writing and proofreading code, and catching any errors before the application is released.
- Working closely with team members such as UI and UX designers as well as software testers to ensure that an app works well and operates smoothly.
- Overseeing an application’s phases of development throughout its life-cycle.
- Regularly beta testing applications in order to identify bugs and resolve technical or operational issues.
- Regularly assessing apps and introducing new technologies if needed to improve efficiency.
- Taking steps to protect and safeguard users' private data.
How to become an Android Developer
A university degree related to software development, computer engineering or programming such as computer science or computer engineering is a requirement for this role.
- 1.Obtain a four-year or five-year bachelor degree in computer science, computer engineering, or another similar field.
- 2.Learn to be fluent in programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or C++
- 3.Gain an internship programme with an application or software development company.
- 4.Gain 1-2 more years of experience in android app development or mobile app development.
- 5.Be on the lookout for additional certification programmes to learn about the Android ecosystem, Android design principles, and Android SDK.
