Human Resources Assistants are entry-level professionals in the human resources (HR) field. They are responsible for executing clerical tasks and assisting Human Resources Officers and management. Human Resources Assistant are usually in charge of filing, encoding, and mediating communication between the human resources department and employees.
Tasks and duties
- Gathering, filing, and updating employee records.
- Sending HR circulars and announcements.
- Scheduling training sessions, meetings, and evaluations.
- Assisting employees with payroll processing.
- Processing government transactions for employees such as their income tax and Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), Social Security Organization (SOCSO), and Employment Insurance System (EIS) contributions.
- Assisting company applicants in the recruitment process.
- Executing clerical and correspondence tasks for higher-level HR officers.
How to become a Human Resources Assistant
A bachelor degree is required to work as a Human Resources Assistant. While skills may be learned on the job, prior administrative experience is an advantage.
