An Information Technology Executive, also known as an IT Director or Chief Information Officer (CIO), oversees the technological infrastructure within an organisation. These professionals often define the overall IT strategy, ensuring it aligns with a business’s goals and objectives. Their responsibilities include managing IT budgets, ensuring data security, coordinating with other leaders, and leading the implementation of new technology systems or software. Most of their work takes place in corporate settings across all industries, usually any organisation that rely on technology. This role often requires previous IT experience and training, with many having a background in Systems Analysis, Network Management or Software Development.
