How to become a Program Manager
To start a career as a Programme Manager, you are expected to have operational industry knowledge and proven experience in successfully leading several projects. A formal qualification is usually required.
- Complete a relevant bachelor degree in your field of industry.
- Obtain relevant project management certifications. Some employers prefer industry-recognised certifications in project management.
- Take postgraduate studies in a management-related course. Though not a requirement, further education can improve your employability.
- Show proven experience in managing resources and communicating effectively with different levels in an organisation. These leadership skills can help you perform better as a Programme Manager and open pathways to more senior roles.
