Sports Coaches teach athletes the skills and abilities they need to reach their full potential. They may support professional sportspeople, sports teams, community teams or school groups, working jointly and hand-in-hand to monitor their performance. How to become a Sports Coach
You must be knowledgeable on the sport you will be coaching. You can work as a Sports Coach without formal qualifications, however some employers may prefer applicants with qualifications in the field of sports. Your pathway to becoming a coach may be improved through experience playing the sport.
- 1.Complete a bachelor degree in health science, sports coaching, exercise and sports science, sports management or human movement.
- 2.Some employers may require you to have a coaching certification and experience playing the sport you will be coaching.
- 3.Consider starting off as a volunteer assistant coach or part-time coach in a community or school-based program. You can use this experience as a stepping-stone to coach at a higher level.
