    There is always something you can learn from
    The good thingsColleagues are friendly and helpful. There are so much things to learn from as an intern such as software development, data migration, upgrading branch's servers and etc.
    The challengesRequires fast learning. Hope other branches employees do not touch the servers...

    The challengesWorst management I have ever seen. T&c will always change in favor of company no matter how much you have contribute to the company. Company has no benefits to its staff but harsh management.

    The good thingsWorking here as an intern truly gave me great experience on how the finance operation is work in investment bank. By guidance from kind and generous staffs and supervisor, I really enjoy my internship. Plus, the they have cool pantry too!
    The challengesAs an intern, there is least challenging tasks were assigned because it is a routine tasks and easy to understand as they seek intern to do basic accounting operation duties. I recommend they do rotational for intern to learn more about finance operation and its department.

    The challengesSalary low. Company policy can always change to maximize their own benefit, terrible remuneration package, unrealistic goal-afraid to absorb losses but hoping trader to earn significant profit.

    The good thingsWorking hour from morning 8.45am to 5.30pm Follow the Bursa trading hour to provide the services to the client. Recently merged with Hwang and currently under growing process.

    The good thingsEmployer was kind and nurturing. She did not hesitate to give responsibility to interns. Senior associates were eager to teach the ways of the business. They were patient enough to sit down and educate interns that weren't very familiar with the line of work. Overall a fantastic place to work in.
    The challengesNot too many challenges except a steep learning curve. Being in the investment banking industry is tough and competitive thus as an intern, you always need to be on your toes about changes that occur in your surroundings be it internal or external.

    Very good experience with a warm working environment. All staffs and bosses are helpful.
    The good thingsThe benefit is good. Every year we have the opportunity to attend the inhouse and external personal enhance training for self developement. Each year we would have teambuilding programme where all staff including bosses will participate.

    The good thingsI was well guided and worked closely under the supervision of my supervisor during my internship. I had great insights of the job and my colleagues shared their experience with me on the pros and cons of this job.
    The challengesThe challenge arises from the job itself, whereby traders required to perform trading in the ever changing stock market. Everyday the traders face different challenges and scenarios in the stock market. Being in this position requires you to react instantly to the latest news, announcements and market movements.

    AFFIN Experience
    The good thingsIt is a small investment bank compared to the others in the industry. Despite its size, it is still a good learning experience as in the employee will get to learn and understand the processes from the beginning till the end, whereas you might not be able to experience these at a larger firm. There are more quality times invested by the mentor to the mentee which makes this worthwhile.
    The challengesIt can be quite daunting and overwhelming at times when we are pressured to meet the datelines despite the low headcounts. What I reckon is that AFFIN does not have enough junior level staffs to assist the upper management in terms of project deliverable. The staffs have to be quick on their feet and always anticipate what is required from them.
