    Friendly and enjoyable working environment.
The good things1) Provide new sets of work challenges within the limited resources; 2) Opportunity to enhance competency through professional certification program fully sponsored by the Bank; 3) Management can appreciate the importance of risk management integrated in the daily operations.
The challenges1) Reward and recognition somewhat does not commensurate the achievement by individual staff. 2) Performance appraisal process to a certain extent unclear especially when comes to moderation by HR/ Mgt. 3) Career growth/ promotion exercise is not properly planned by Head of Function.

An eye opener on what I actually want in my career.
The good thingsIt's actually a good work-life balance for employees working in this Bank, especially those with children. It would have been suitable for me if my aim was to have work-life balance, but my aim was career progression. Nonetheless, I'm grateful to have made new friends at work and I was able to make time after working hours to do things I was passionate about. And there are plenty of food choices when working here.
The challengesSometimes it's not easy to challenge the thinking of the old established order, as well as the commuting distance despite it being near the LRT station. It makes me feel as tired as compared to working in the audit line for which it makes me feel accomplished. Also, I miss the flexibility whereby we can work just about anywhere rather than having a desktop-based system which I don't find it attractive.

    Poor environment
The good thingsWork life balance, trainings, benefits.
The challengesThe closed minded environment, old school mentality, seniority is highly prominent, not suitable for young generation who wishes to explore creativity and grow as the culture is different from most MNC's. Non professionalism can be observed.

The good thingsThe bank offer good learning experience and opportunities for career advancement based on competence and potential. The welfare for the employees are well taken care of. Harmonious work environment and productive superior subordinate relationship.
The challengesThe decision making process can be faster, allow more empowerment to the employees and reduce unnecessary and less value added work process. More initiatives to encourage innovation and creativity are required.

    Fun at workplace
The good thingsThe good things are non-work related. At BPMB, the are lots of activities within the Bank's for your social needs. Diving, hiking, caving, treasure hunts you name it. And the Bank's is generous to sponsor this activities. If you are activities-junkie, this is the place for you.
The challengesHUMAN RESOURCE. Big challenges comes ahead if your not well connected/in favor of the HR department. Even if you excel in work, non of that matters. Also non-professionalism. If you used to professionalism at a other place, lower your expectations.
