A perfect example of a company in a sunset industry
The good thingsFamily atmosphere where staff maintain close relationships with other staff, flexible working arrangements especially with regards to family/children matters, new management is trying to improve current situation of very poor turnover and lack of opportunities for career progression, implementation of new policies to empower HR as a strategic tool rather than or routine duties such as payroll...
The challengesEntrenched thinking, limited opportunity for improvement and progression, minimal employee turnover leading to stale working environment and resistance to learning new skills, no replacement of staff when others have left leading to overburdening of current workforce, local management concentrate on small issues i.e. not looking at the big picture, major overhaul required to remain competitive.
