    The good thingsIt was a very established company where almost everything (regulatory, reporting matrix, benefits etc), is set in place. First class IT updates with latest soft/hardwares and infrastructures. The policies are strictly adhered to, and staff welfare/safety is seriously uncompromising. Succession plan is in place, so there would not be a gap should things go wrong.
    The challengesAs with any companies with shareholders to report to, retrenching staff to feed the good share prices are one drawback. Starting the shared service centres in the 3 Regions, somehow lost the close rapport that was being built up as the teams working along together.

This is evident from its achievements in winning national awards and being in the top SHE rankings for the chemical industry. Its Malaysian subsidiary, Cabot Malaysia won the national MSOSH award consecutively over several years.
    The challengesThe challenge , as a Department Manager , is to \"walk the talk\" and provide the necessary leadership in the area of Safety, Health and Environment ! Additionally in my role as the Quality Manager, the challenge was to ensure that all procedures that will impact the quality performance and continual maintenance of the ISO 9001:2008 certification, are consistently followed.
