I gained valuable experience in property sales admin while working alongside helpful collegues.
The good thingsCahya Mata Sarawak is a well established corporate company. The workplace culture (Property SBU) is positive and supportive, I had the opportunity to work with many helpful and friendly colleague for the past 7 years (nearly). The role also provides good learning opportunities through collaboration with different departments such as finance, planning and legal.
The challengesDuring my time there, the company underwent some restructuring which brought certain changes to process and direction. Decision making may sometimes take longer due to multiple approval levels, and career progression may depends on organisational developments.

Working in a multinational corporation (MNC) often brings a sense of pride, growth and exposure.
The good thingsThe Compensation & Benefits is one of the top-list in Sarawak. As a State & local company that establish is Sarawak, with a strong comp & ben packages, it attracts the good talents want to work in Cahya Mata.
The challengesChallenges in Cahya Mata often revolve around navigating a rapidly evolving business environment while supporting a diverse portfolio of subsidiaries. With ongoing restructuring, digitalisation and operational integration across multiple SBUs, employees frequently face shifting priorities and increasing expectations. Talent shortages in specialised technical roles, especially within Sarawak’s competitive labour market, also create pressure to fill positions quickly while maintaining quality. Cross-department coordination can be demanding due to varied workflows, legacy systems and differing operational cultures across entities. Despite these challenges, they create opportunities to strengthen strategic HR practices, enhance stakeholder engagement and build more resilient organisational processes.

    Amazing
The good thingsThe department that I was assigned to which was the IT department was incredibly helpful in giving me advises and a lending a helping hand with the tasks that was given to me. Basically, everyone from the many departments under CMS SDN BHD were incredibly friendly like a one big family. I was a newbie and a newcomer but I felt very welcomed in the company. I certainly do not regret choosing CMS for my internship program.
    The challengesNothing comes to mind.

    Great industiral experience
The good thingsTrainees are well informed about the industry and protocols during their first day on the job. Moreover, there is exposure of trainees to tasks of different departments by rotation of departments throughout the industrial training period.
The challengesSome tasks may not be suitable for individuals who are claustrophobic or having fear of heights. Fairly demanding in terms of physical strength (depending on tasks).

The good thingsThe environment of the office was friendly. They are very experienced and willing to share their knowledge. They never looked down on me despite being a girl. Overall, I had fun during my internship with all the great people in my surroundings.
The challengesSince I only had a short internship, I do not happen to face that much of a challenge along the way. And overall, the company did their best in managing every situations. So, that is the most important part.
