    Purchasing Manager

Sri Hartamas Kuala Lumpur10 to 11 years in the role, former employee
I am an experienced Procurement Manager with a proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization, consistently delivering value through efficient procurement processes and strong stakeholder collaboration.
The good thingsI enjoy making decisions that have a direct impact on cost savings and efficiency as well as process of negotiating and developing long-term partnerships with suppliers. It’s satisfying to build trust and collaboration that benefits both sides.”
The challengesLast-Minute Requests dealing with urgent or unexpected purchase requests. They often lead to rushed decisions, limited supplier options, and higher costs. It also disrupts planning and adds unnecessary pressure. It’s challenging when internal departments don’t provide clear requirements. Without detailed specifications, it’s hard to source the right product or negotiate effectively.

Good colleague and good training system, but no working benefit in working place to employee. Eg: no resting area, no pantry, terrible duty time table arrangement.
The good thingsA lot of training provided, well managed to upgrade employees' skills by providing training systematically.
The challengesNo work-life balance, work from very early in the morning for shift; till very late in the night for client. With very little basic salary.

    Knowledge
The good thingsyou can learn a lot of new programs that theoretically might not work but it may work in real life. More sales, more money for following month. once achieved target, there's always bonus with different tiers.
The challengesyou will be working like a zombie if you are unable to manage your time with client, the more sales you conduct, the more service and work that you have to carry on the following month, but if you are young and looking for a pot of gold. This would be it.

The good thingsThe environment of working in this company is truly wonderful with experience employer and other employees ready to assist you with your tasks and the motivation with support from the employer when you are stressed or have a problem was really help me during my time with this company.
The challengesThe things that could be improve for this company is the commissions for Operation or Customer Service side. The commissions could be divide to update Form Of Payment and for which successful appointment for collection purpose which could lead to company revenue. The other thing that I would like to add on is maybe the management could check or verify again the Public Holiday leave for staff that work in any branches in Malaysia.

    Engage with different people everyday.
The good thingsWhen doing job as customer service we have to give people correct information and we know that this people need us. Also know how to handle people with patience while smiling. It was good for those which felt that their confident level is low. Believe me, if you tried position as Customer Service even not in Celebrity Fitness, your confident level became higher automatically. Why I say this, because communication is important and it was basic thing in our life.
The challengesChallenge while working here is you meet different people everyday with different behavior, physical, thinking, appearance, personality and sometime higher expectation from you, other staff also manager. So, you should know how to face all the situation and ready with logic answered. Yes customer always right but sometime what they need is out from our league especially it was a gym.

    Meet your target
The good thingsNice equipment and setup of the clubs. Some friendly staff. Fast growing gym franchise. Good coaching & development team. Get to meet new members always and interact with them. Good for new graduates or someone interested in health & fitness.
The challengesVery standard gym practices - nearly minimum wage but you do have commission. Still you have to meet your target to qualify for commission. Really long hours because your clients usually come in the evening. After that it's sales, sales and more sales.
