    The good thingsGood for person love with machine of semiconductor. You will learn a lot of mechanical hands-on skill if working in production floor.

    The good thingsFriendly, work life balance, they have many bonding activities with others and free parking.
    The challengesThey usually take fresh graduate as contract staff and its hard to get job as permanent engineer there.

    First Job with multiple challenges
    The good thingsComing with the background of supply chain, it was hard for me to be in a project team in a semi-conductor plant where they need engineering touch to conduct the project. However, with the proper guiding of my manager, I managed to survive and learn the things quite quickly and tried to implement few new tactics that can track the project progress easily.
    The challengesThe salary was below the standard level, the working hours was not fixed as need to support the production team for every shifts. Standby by the weekend and also on public holidays. Sometimes have to attend the calls even on MC and AL.

    The good thingsGood exposure for those looking to gain techical skills. Systematic engineering workflow and proper library management.
    The challengesHeavy workload and reliance on engineering. OT on weekends which distrupt personal time. Management is worst. Focusing on machine delivery and not quality. Crazy working hours ( doing rotational shifts even for engineers). Paygrade not equal to workload.

    The good thingsExperiences gained: - Finalized for critical negotiations & competencies on cost & lead-time with purchasing team. - Ability to work collaboratively as a cross-functional team members with Sales and Engineering to define the part and design functional. - Skilled in ERP system and Excel Advance (V-Lookup function, Chart Analysis, Pivot Table)
    The challengesnone, but I can't do shift rotating since i'm a Breast-feeding mom and my baby needs me at night.

    Avoid COHU if you're from a tech background
    The good thingsGood experience for those wanting to work for software development for machines. Exposure to a lot of low level workings of the machine. Acceptable work life balance. (Pale in comparison to other competitor companies who provide more work life balance)
    The challengesExtremely low pay (relatively compared to neighboring states) Just moving state would double your pay. HRs here is the worst I have ever seen. On good days they try their best to reduce payment incentives. Don't get me started on bad days. There were cases where people's confirmation is delayed by a few days just because they don't want to hand over people bonus. COHU is considered as the exporter of good talents in other company. Talent retention is terrible. Only those who are too comfortable with the work are left.

    The challengesresponsibility delegation sometimes is in grey area. the salary package is not up to standard compare to general MNC.
