Effective documentation is a key function of construction management because it can help crews adhere to project timelines.
The good thingsMy ideal employer fosters a respectful working environment where excellent performance is expected, nurtured and appreciated. In this environment, all employees can be counted on to perform capably in their specific areas of responsibility, while feeling a part of, and free to contribute to, every other team. This employer creates and supports systems that help identify specific skills available within the employee pool and enable the free flow of these skills to appropriate projects. The employer recognizes outstanding performance by individuals and ad-hoc teams in obvious, significant and timely ways (i.e. not limited to an arbitrary periodic review). Valued employee retention should be among the highest priorities of this employer.
The challengesDifferences are inevitable when passionate people work together. Eventually, after a team gets through an initial orientation with a new task, members usually come to the realization that working together to accomplish a common goal is tough work. This occurs in the “dissatisfaction” stage of team development when the team recognizes the discrepancy between what is expected of them and the reality of getting it done.
