Great team, excellent environmentThe good thingsAutomation team is very cohesive and everyone is in good spirits and helpful. Environment is casual, as long as you do what is required of you, you are treated as an adult and you're free to express your ideas. Approaching your manager is always encouraged and they listen and try to accommodate your needs as best as they can.
It's great that they have a business process set in place and you can never go wrong if you follow it.
The challengesThere is a steep learning curve. Although training is provided for 5.5 to 6 weeks for new hires, once you hit the ground running, you have to be able to pick up new business processes and technical products/update quickly. You are under the guidance of your team leads, managers, and senior staff who are always willing to help, but you have to be able to catch on .
Your technical knowledge and logical thinking of how an application should run and where to troubleshoot needs to be sharp.
There are several departments, and some have rotational shift so be ready to adjust.
Improvement can be made in making the KPI for Automation more achievable. Although no one is penalized for not reaching it, it's nearly impossible to meet all the metrics.
