An insightful first exposure to the oil and gas industry in a positive and collaborative workplace
The good thingsI truly appreciate the supportive and collaborative work culture at Deleum. The company provides a good and professional working environment where team members are approachable and always willing to share their knowledge. I gained practical exposure to oil and gas operations, particularly in the solids control department, and learned how different departments coordinate to support offshore and onshore activities. The hands-on tasks, clear guidance from supervisors, and opportunities to contribute to actual projects made the experience both engaging and professionally rewarding.
The challengesAs an intern, some of the technical processes and industry-specific terms were challenging to grasp initially, especially since this was my first exposure to the oil and gas field. However, with guidance from colleagues and self-learning, I was able to adapt over time.

The good thingsThe bosses (at that time)take care of the staff, the work scope which is challenging, the principal (Solar Turbines)who appreciated, the customers n office mates who cooperates.
The challengesWhen the VP hires his mate as Finance Controller. Too much office politics on the higher management level especially with the pressure form the Finance Controller, who wants to control everything even when it was not under his finance dept, and his calling for frequent meeting caused distruption in work flow.
