Opportunities for fresh graduates but nightmares for your career.
The good thingsIf you are a fresh graduate this place is your place since they offer reasonable salary for fresh graduate. If you good at negotiate and want to raise your salary, the management will offer you a good salary. The senior and other staff are very kind, helpful and willing to share knowledge.
The challengesNo bonus, no company trip, no company annual dinner. Short staff, if you want fast outcome you need to do by yourself such as drafting and correspondence. The IT department stucks at 90s. No Internet for engineers because screw you! Here your old and slow computer for doing your work.

Totally get out of your comfort zone
The good thingsEEC company background are strong with Civil & Structure projects such as Sewerage Treatment Plant and Power Plant. There are a lot of things can be learn at here with conditions you are highly passionate with your job. The idea is you move on you own and nobody will force you to do the job. If you perform very well, a high rise of salary will be offered but as usual a really high expectation for it. Overall, this is the best place to gain your knowledge and at the same time, you can build up your soft skills by communicating with all levels of organisation in this company.
The challengesEverything about here is challenging. You working with a minimum numbers of staff that force you to do everything. However its not that bad, the downside of this problem is you will have a lot works to do. That's where time management is a really big deal.

EEC: withers without good management and aggressive leadership.
The good thingsI enjoyed the warmth of the staff : we still keep in touch with each other even though I have left the company more than 9 years ago. It's more like a close knit family over there. We respect each other: despite of misunderstandings, arguments & different political stands regardless of our race and religions. The seniors always ready to share their knowledge and experiences with the juniors.
The challengesRemuneration is the issue in the company: no bonus/ang pow since 1998 and also pay cut during economic downturn. Though I enjoyed working there, I have to leave the company because I felt that I was not given the opportunity to handle more responsibilities and earn higher pay. The management prefers to employ new staff rather than recognize the talents and promote the existing employees.
