As an intern, I'd say my experience has not been exactly good. There's decent work-life balance but sadly not enough tasks for me to improve myself throughout my internship here. Additionally, the company should seriously consider WFH or Hybrid work model and stop embracing traditional 9 to 6 work hours, especially how our day-to-day operations literally permits it. Also, the lack of seniors in Cyberjaya branch is yet another issue, affecting my learning journey throughout my internship. The good things1. Cafeteria food (Cyberjaya branch) is very good. No need to think about what to eat for breakfast and lunch.
2. Very Relaxed Environment (Cyberjaya Branch). Barely ever need to OT.
3. As of 2024, the company is slowly embracing newer technologies. Hence, one may be able to learn new and less outdated technologies while working/interning here.
The challengesThis company seriously could have adopted either a WFH or hybrid work model. After spending nearly a year here, the day-to-day operations that we are to do could have been done at home most of the time. For example, due to us having three branches throughout Malaysia, most of the time we have no choice but must use WhatsApp or Microsoft Teams in order to conduct our meetings. For my team, we are almost always using virtual meetings to discuss stuffs since our colleagues are from different branches. Hence, our work literally could have been either hybrid or work from home and I hate this fact with a great passion.
Another challenge I had would be the lack of work occasionally. Occasionally, I've found myself having no tasks and hence I was simply staying at the office just to enjoy free aircon, same goes for my other intern colleagues. Additionally, as I was situated in Cyberjaya, most of us had no seniors to guide us as they were mostly at Titiwangsa branch, which affected our learning journey tremendously.
