Lovely workplace with nice colleaguesThe good thingsI joined this company since my internship and it's been almost 3 years, how time flies! Looking at the duration I have joined company, it might be the time to think of 'switching to something new', but somehow what's good here has persuaded me to stay. Colleagues here are super super nice and helpful! You will always feel being supported, both physically and morally. We never face the difficulties alone here. Believe or not, along these years that I have joined, I have never get scolded or blamed even though I have been so clumsy when I first joined here. Instead, the seniors pointed out and explained to me on my mistakes patiently. I have no worries to always ask what I'm doubted.
To be very honest, the salary here has been lower than the market price when I first joined the company. However, the management is 'observant' enough to adjust the salary to follow market price, not only for me, but for all the staffs. At the same time, the management has also been trying their best to add value to to staff benefit, although our office has just done renovated!
Opportunities for career development here are good. (I'm not so sure how is it for other departments but definitely a YES for mine) Training will be provided regularly, but mostly are on-the-job-trainings. Here, as a system engineer, you will have plenty of opportunities to learn the bank operations, as we have quite a number of ex-bankers here. It adds value to a system engineer as we could never develop a user-friendly system without knowing what user needs. It's really an eye-opening experience for me!
The challengesWe seldom have a company trip nor company event. But we do have activities within our own department.
Since this is a CMMI level 5 company, we have more documentation work than the other companies. But rest assured after getting adapted, you will know how to do the documents fast... haha!
