The good thingsFail Epically Sounds cheesy, but it is through our failures that miracles occur. Opportunities will come knocking on your door, I promise. Succeed at Something It doesn’t have to be something grand like making a million dollars, but celebrate any type of success you have. Learn a New Language It just opens so many doors, such as meeting and being friends with people you normally wouldn’t be able to communicate with.
The challengesDealing with Change Changes in the workplace can consist of anything from management and staff turnover to procedural changes or changes in clients. Either way, dealing with change in the workplace is another common challenge I hear. One thing that stands out for me when I hear this is the idea of challenging our assumptions. If something around us changes, are we able to challenge our assumption about what we think should be happening, or how this will affect us? This can be another really powerful tool.

    Satisfactory
The good thingsHuman resource was very helpful, always ready to help whenever needed. Generally, the co-workers are friendly enough and always supportive. Moreover, the head chefs are experienced and always sharing new techniques with the interns.
The challengesThe kitchen could used some extra staff, sometimes the kitchen could be understaffed causing overworking to some of the workers that lead to burnout. Also, the turnover rate was quite high among the kitchen staff, new part-timer always come and go.

JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur - YTL Hotels & Properties
The good thingsAs a part of the YTL Hotels group, JW Marriott in Kuala Lumpur was franchised under the Marriott International brand. Over 3000 hotels worldwide and vast experience can be gained from other properties and brands within the same area, country and or region. Associates working within the group are also able to request for transfers to other Marriott properties in other areas or even region.
The challengesHowever the down side is the hotel is run and managed solely by YTL Hotel group of managements. Most procedures or practices are based on cost savings and have no permanent set of SOPs. Tools and equipment provided are, in my opinion, lower in efficiency such as the PMS system, Accounting system etc.
