    Not Much Career Advancement Opportunity for Experienced Hire
    The good thingsA lot of things to learn. Good for fresh graduates who are just going to start their career. Seniors in the company are willing to guide those who are willing to learn.
    The challengesOnce you're placed in a department/ project, it is hard for you to change or transfer. Most projects take place at rural areas. Not for those who are employed for project site that want flexible working hours or relaxing work environment. There are some favouritism and 'office politics' going on.

    I was assigned to design water chambers and pipe crossings under the Water and Environmental Department.
    The good thingsThe engineers in the organisation guided me and taught me a lot of new knowledge that I didn't learn in university. I slowly improved my drawing skills and gaining more information related to the water and environmental aspect.
    The challengesI believe the improvement that can be made is to develop a more friendly environment.

    It is a great company!
    The good thingsAll my senior coworkers are very cooperative and willing to share their knowledge and experience to me. This helps a lot in term of adapting a new working life as a graduate engineer.
    The challengesGraduate engineers should be exposed to more jobs and tasks so that they will gain more experience.

    The good thingsWelfare is taking care of, a gym is located on top of the building. Working environment consider not too bad, with air conditional working perfectly all the time. Also coffee and tea are prepare by an auntie and distribute to all who need, although it come at a bit late morning. However, you can always make your own coffee or tea, hot water dispenser are at every level of the building.
    The challengesThe office is a medium size consultant, which deal with lot of government project, so, once you are in 1 section, it is really hard to change section. It mean if you didn't start your career in a right section, with the job you like or a good supervisor, you will probably feel depress and hopeless for the rest of your career. Beside, although they got many directors, really, it is 1 man show...
