My experience at MIDA has been a rewarding journey filled with opportunities to navigate bureaucratic complexities, adapt to dynamic economic landscapes, and balance the diverse needs of stakeholders, all contributing to personal and professional growth.
The good thingsIn my almost 17 years of service at MIDA, I've had the privilege of experiencing diverse roles across various divisions, each contributing to a rich tapestry of professional growth and fulfilment. MIDA's commitment to excellence has allowed me to participate in impactful projects, contributing to the nation's economic development and fostering international relations. The dynamic nature of the organization has continuously challenged me, nurturing my adaptability and problem-solving skills.
The challengesWorking in MIDA, while rewarding, also presents its fair share of challenges. One notable challenge is navigating the complexities of bureaucracy and governmental processes, which can sometimes slow down decision-making and implementation. The dynamic nature of economic development necessitates swift adjustments to shifting policies, market conditions, and global trends, demanding adaptability and foresight. Moreover, managing expectations within limited resources and amidst competing priorities requires adept prioritization and negotiation skills. Balancing the diverse interests of stakeholders, including government bodies, businesses, and communities, adds another layer of complexity, demanding diplomacy and tact. Despite these challenges, the opportunity to contribute to the nation's economic growth and development makes the journey with MIDA both challenging and rewarding.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR IN STRATEGIC PLANNING & POLICY ADVOCACY
    Dec 2019
5 to 6 years in the role, current employee
Often worked directly under the directives of Senior Executive Director (Strategic Planning & Development) and Executive Director (Strategic Planning) for special high-level tasks/projects related to MIDA Top Management and/or Ministerial level.
The good thingsOpportunities to experience working with investors in implementation and operation of their projects through direct consultation/assistance (related to tax / tax incentives /grants / manufacturing licence / investment policies, etc) and co-operating with the relevant ministries/government agencies on the development of industries’ policies and strategies in promoting foreign direct investments (FDI) as well as domestic direct investments (DDI).
The challengesShould provide better benefits to the employees where each employee should be treated in a fairly organized environment, where performance can be measured with some accuracy.
