    Valuable
The good thingsIncrease the level of confidence to work and communicate with various hotel customers. Besides, I feel very happy to know many of the other employees at the hotel and I also learned a lot from the long-serving employees of this hotel. They also provide guidance if I do not understand the assignment given.
The challengesThe challenge was very little for me as long as working in this hotel. I am happy to go through various challenges and be able to complete all the tasks given to me. Every time I am willing to help these hotel customers.

    1 of my Best Employers
The good thingsMarriott truly care for its staffs. It has the greatest team in the service industry to empower you with limitless possibilities in winning your customer's heart. Awesome internal opportunities to experience various departments (both Front & Back of the House) which provide a well-oriented platform not limited only in building your career but also getting to make fantastic friends!
The challengesLong working hours - which wasn't really a challenge to me as I loved this work place so much that it was just like home to me. Average wages - which is the reason for many who resigned for higher pay.

    Director of operations
    Jun 2015
More than 20 yrs experience promoting & managing hotel operations. Championing brands service vision for product and service delivery among Rooms and F&B leadership team. Coaches and support Ops team to manage wages and controllable expenses focussing on
The good thingsWorking with local people is good with their hospitality and culture. Life style in Miri is good for family living there. Company practiced 5 day work week which is an added benefit giving staff balance between work and life balance.
The challengesGiving priorities to essential resources for the hotel & guests. Staff pinching is high and most applicants prefer to work in oil & gas rather in hotel. Too many stand alone restaurants selling duty unpaid alcohol and liqueurs in the area causing F&b revenues in hotels to drop.
