Still a great company to work at. You can get good and friendly colleagues. Great employee benefits. And getting good increments but it comes with heavy workload as well
The good thingsA family oriented culture, supportive seniors & managers, good yearly bonus & increment with strong company benefits. Everything seems quite good. The company is basically a training ground for newcomers, and good decent & stable place to stay long for old timers. Not so much for people who like to work outside the boundary, discipline is very much a culture here and the main principle that shape the management.
The challengesNo work life balance, rigid top management, heavy work load, Chinese methodology of business culture

A Place to Learn but not to Stay
The good thingsGood learning ground for site work and coordination work, in particularly for civil engineers. Task can be easily familiarized with as the type of projects are similar and are in house project. So there will be less difficulties faced when dealing with clients or consultants.
The challengesUnable to learn about engineering fundamentals as this company is just solely a contractor. If you are keen in applying engineering knowledge in your work, this place is not suitable. Certain seniors tend to be archaic in their way of doing things and often times it doesn't align with current times and young engineers.

It's Not Just About Building Factories
The good thingsGet involved in managing and executing projects:tender, prepare costing&proposal, planning, design, procurement, kick off, execution & monitoring of works, until successfully handing over.Learning about knowledge of sugar, palm oil & other agriculture manufacturing process at the same time. It's like taking care a child from \"birth\" until \"graduate\", hardships expected, but full of sense of achievement!
The challengesDealing with people: Fulfil CLIENTS' requirement, standard & timeline Negotiating skill with SUPPLIERS to ensure suppliers meet stringent quality standard Communication with SUB-CONTRACTORS in work arrangement and execution of work EQ is real essence and important soft skill that rocks. We must also make sure our knowledge is up to date to compete with others.
