Old Japanese Company that stays stagnantThe good thingsthe system is very good and complete. things are very organized.
the products are of good quality, generally. most of the staff are educated so communication is not a problem. the company has a lot of technical specialist with knowledge, you may learn a lot from them.
the colleagues are generally quite friendly. you may find friends here.
a lot of benefits - sports allowance, safety allowance, car, house, a lot of training, chances to go overseas if you are in operation....etc... really a lot.
The challenges1) the old staff are mostly promoted based on seniority. so some of them are not educated and they behave like gangster, but they are your bosses, even if you have a master / phd.
2) the bonus etc is distributed evenly among staff. so even if you are lazy oso you wont get less, and even if you are hardworking oso you wont get more. unfair.
3) Promotion is based on seniority. no matter how hardworking u are, how good u perform, you have to wait till your senior leave the company then only u may be promoted.
4) very high power distance. the japanese are always regarded as higher ranking than malaysians, the managers are always respected but not the executives.
5) very high expectation from management and bosses. they dont really care of your personal commitment in life. they just wan results. meaning to say, taking leave is a sin in their eyes and you definitely cant be late, cant go home early, strictly follow 1 hour lunch rule.
6) working environment not healthy. it's filled with acidic mist in the factory. not good for health.
