Worse place to work as Educator as Torturing Staffs to do Activities
The good thingsSupportive work culture with Superiors but then too busy so not even balancing anything
The challengesEducation industry worse in Malaysia as no quality at all as for Lecturers. Suffering and tortured by management by setting unrealistic KPIs for their own profits. Everything is about money earning.

    Tiring and unfair treatment
The good thingsStarting salary seems okay and good colleagues (academic).
The challengesNo job security as I always request for agreement/official letter, but management kept saying still in progress or not yet issued. Expect teaching lots of subjects in one semester eventhough some subject you never heard and not in your expertise. My faculty even had only 3 lecturer for 1 course, which 3 of us receive lots of workload stress. Short notice on everything. Some unnecessary event/activity that not in academic area. Told us our working hours would be only on weekday, but when the timetable were given, we were expect to cover weekend as well and sometimes some extra class if some students couldnt attend. A very long working hours. No work-life-balance and very tiring. Teaching loads are tripled when you had to find own teaching material, do admins work and managing student events. Self-attributes for teaching equipment. No OT pay even if they make you work extra hours.

    Need To Improve A Lot.
The good thingsSalary on time Good environment. Mix of cultures.
The challengesNot welcoming for new staff. Working with no direction, No technical support for your own particular subject you teach. Do expect to invite someone from industry without any payment. The KPI set to each faculty doesnt sound feasible to achieve especially in this covid season. Too many programme that have no demand.

Not Worth. Too much workload and expect the management that always give short notice.
The good things~Salary on time ~ Have surau ~ Great place to develop your career as everyone have the same opportunity to promote.
The challenges~ Management always give short notice on any policy that they wanted to implement. ~ Management seems doesnt like to hear ideas and critics from the staff. Every meeting or workshop is like a preaching session from your boss. ~ Salary doesnt matched the workload that given to the staff. ~ Too much workload for the lecturer. Lecturer need to do lecture, research, project, event, finding for sponsorship, mentoring and a lot of admin work. You will become exhausted of the workload and my teaching skill doenst seem to improve due to the admin work that surpass my teaching load. Do expect to face 80% admin work and 20% academic task. ~ Do expect to work extra hours everyday. If have event, do expect to work and finish almost midnight. ~ Company doesnt really help in teaching equipment. Lecturer have to bought our own stationery. Marker for whiteboard, paper to print, file for lots of filing, cable for projector need to bought by our own. Classroom and office doesnt have pc or laptop. So each lecturer need to have one on their own. ~ The KPI set to every staff also doesn't sound feasible. The KPI being set also sounds impossible to achieve. For example, every mentor must make sure Diploma student must continue the degree program at 100% rate. ~ Some SOP also being made burdensome. ~ Do expect to invite someone from industry to give lecture or talk without any payment as the company assume the invitees doing a community service.

    Good Luck!
The good thingsKnowledgeable professionals who are good at what they do. Positive work environment and team effort. Dedicated to helping students and working with school administrators to provide outdoor learning activity that are beneficial.
The challengesEmployees are overworked. They do not care if you spend a lot of overtime trying to get your work done. (If you work at home or during the weekend –they will not compensate you in any way. Some employers will let you leave early or come in late the next day for something like that but at MSU –no.)

    Amazing
The good thingsThe environment around campus itself. As it reminds me of my student life before. Besides, it also like encourage me to further my studies in doing Master. Other than that, the staff here are very friendly too. I got to be friend with non-Malay staff.
The challengesAs far as am concern, there is nothing serious that i can see as a challenges or stressful matter working for this company. its just the open parking lot that you will have to pay however it does not guarantee any space/lot for you due to the first come, first serve basis. That's all.
