A good learning experience as an internThe good thingsSupervisor is very willing to help us interns to learn the ropes about the company routine, codes and standards required for designing of fire-fighting systems, requirements for tests, inspection and maintenance of liferaft equipment as well as sourcing for required equipment.
The challengesDuring the internship, due to unforeseen circumstances, mistakes were made during the designing process of the fixed fire-fighting system, which lead to purchasing of equipment to be kept in inventory, without implementation. A lesson was taken out of it and proper future designs may be implemented and all had been well documented.
