It's a okay stepping stone company. Not a good place to work for long term.
The good thingsDecent benefits. Nice office.
The challengesUnqualified managers. Limited career progression (managers will keep subordinates in the same position). Bad culture and unethical practices by middle managers. No job security.

    Good company with poor management
The good thingsBenefits are decent. Nice flashy office and facilities.
The challengesHigh stress. Managers lack of knowledge in products, people management skills. They too lack of empathy and steals credits, believe in stepping on others go up career. Salary will be benchmarked not based on talent or contribution but based on average regardless performance.

    Inspiring Organisation
The good thingsThe culture in Novartis is definitely great and you will be given a lot of flexibility as long as it does not compromise your work quality.
The challengesPersonally for me, I wasn't able to utilise my credibility to its full potential. It was a bumpy ride for me and I did learn a lot from working in Novartis, however I wasn't given the opportunity to contribute more.

    Conflicted company
The good thingsStaff benefits, takes are of staff's basic needs, making it easier for one to carry out duty (i.e. Parking, Touch n Go, co. tel. lines) that doesn't require submission of too much paper work Corporate Social Responsibility program, have initiatives that involves communities, collaborates with local colleges for internships for their students. Free drug program. Innovative Pipeline
The challengesUnrealistic goals: Year on Year of putting pressure on Sales force with unachievable targets, hence staff turnover increases, and hiring and training costs invaluable time and resources Objectives which are not clearly defined. Incapable of accepting the truth about Market situation. Some obvious double standards.

    Grow with Novartis
The good thingsEmployees were very well taking care of with good salaries, benefits such as incentives, overseas trips etc. Good working environment and good superior/subordinates relationship. Health issues is not a big deal since if an employee should face such problems, the company without hesitation will help the employee.
The challengesNot much really. But as a sales person, surely I would like to see more attractive product incentives for those who achieved the sales target.

The good thingsWork benefits and car allowance is one of the best in the Pharma industry
The challengesLike I mentioned earlier,it's not that easy to achieve your sales target and if you don't within 6 months you will be placed on a performance improvement program which you will be under heavy scrutiny.
