    Good mid sized company
The good thingsEmpowering supervisor and culture Very thin layer/hierarchy- easily get things done Close and warm friendly culture Good opportunity to work overseas Relaxed environment (vs uptight) as long as you deliver results
The challengesHR manager is terrible and evil!!!! Expats preferred over locals for promotion of senior positions Loyalty (employment duration) preferred over competency Messy and unstructured if you come from big pharma like Pfizer or Novartis

Mid sized company that truly empowers employees
The good thingsEmpowers you to do what you want to do and learn from mistakes Caring, warm working environment Genuine friendly and warm culture (except for a couple of idiot expats) Real opportunity for growth via internal promotions Opportunity to work overseas Above average work life balance (*This review is for Malaysia office and not regional office in the same building)
The challengesExpat bosses (if you are unfortunate to report to one) pretend they know tings when they know squat; as a result, you are left to clean up the mess after they leave after their 2 year contract More and more higher level positions/senior positions given to expats (Danes, swiss etc) If you come from Big 8 pharma, the operations can be messy and unstructured for your taste
