advise to management: Stop hiring ppl based on favourtisme.l
The good thingsEPF only. other than that nothing so much about good things working at nxp malaysia
The challengesEver since new managemnt take over NPI group, its getting messy. No proper training provided. High turnover as engineers keep resigning yet HR NXP malaysia never take any step. Current New managers have zero knowledge about NPI process and expecting engineers to deal with managers from other dept. High favourtisme. No proper planning on the forecast hiring engineers to support more NPI projects and pressuring existing engineers with more jobload and workpressure.

    Poor work life balance
The good thingsGood communication among departments and great teamwork as they are like family. A good place for fresh grads.
The challengesImbalance work life as it is a norm to support beyond normal working hours (weekend & midnight). Face paced environment as issues keep coming non-stop and you need to standby 24/7 to solve them. Improper project management process causing issues to keep rising. Very less activity organized by HR makes people feel more demotivated and dont feel appreciated. Chances for career development is vague.

Great experience but lack in training provided for newcomer
The good thingsSubstantial experiences and skills can be gained from working here. There are plenty of opportunities for you to learn new things and grow with the company.
The challengesWhen you enter as a new employee (fresh&experienced), you will be expected to learn everything by yourself at a fast rate. There are no elaborated training provided for you. It all depends on how you can communicate effectively with your colleagues/team members to seek for help/guidance in understanding everything.

My Technician and Process Ingineering experience.
The good thingsBeing autonomous and independent I had my machines park, had to be thorough. Discovering a big company, how their strict processes are.
The challengesAlways learning something, daily. I've started there without any qualifications. At the beginning I started on day time and I've asked to work on night for money. So they managed it for me and I did. My best experience ever.

    Internship as a HR Trainee
The good thingsI've done my three-month internship (HR Trainee) with Freescale Semiconductor Malaysia Sdn Bhd while I was waiting for my degree intake. The internship has proved to be an eye-opening experience and has prepared me reasonably well to face the challenges and demands associated with management sector. Apart from working in the human resource department, I was also involved in the recruitment section whereby one of my main role was to arrange an interview with the candidates and the managers and dealing with the universities around Malaysia in conjunction with the project named Freescale Cup that was conducted by Freescale Semiconductor Malaysia Sdn Bhd. Working in such an organization has helped me to enhance my communications skills and other necessary skills needed for an employee.
The challengesCommunication barrier has been one of the challenges that I've faced while working with this organization.

The good thingsGreat employee benefits, flexibility in work as long as tight schedules requirements are adhered. Great place to work with less stress. Enjoyed working every moment there. Just need to manage with the traffic jams, apart from that Freescale offers wide range of on job trainings, external trainings to ensure everyone is competent. Job scope and titles are clearly explained.
The challengesIf you are alien to programming world, learning it will be bit difficult. However with guidance and training you can succeed. No other complaints!

    Freescale Review
The good thingsAs a whole - The company is based on strong fundamentals, further enhanced from the solid foundations inherited from Motorola. Specifically for the KL site: Excellent environment, good people. Flexible hours. Good work flows and structures with well documented processes. Dynamic workplace that tries to adapt and foster employee engagement.
The challengesCan do more for Employee retention. Needs to have better recognition of key employees' overall contributions. Can improve on some of the employee facilities (e.g. cafeteria). More activities to allow employees from across various departments to engage (not just for work specific needs)... e.g. interdepartmental games.
