    Port Klang Selangorformer employee
stayed there for the salary, and left because I knew there was a better opportunity.
The good thingsthe salary package is slightly higher than the normal market.
The challengeswork-life balance basically doesn't exist. Too much to follow up on. not systematic and no procedure enforcement.

Training place for fresh grads but did not manage to attract experienced local talents
The good things1) Good work-life balance, engineer level & above are entitled to one-day work from home every week, stress level is not excessive. 2) Equipped with the state of the art application instruments for food, cosmetic and lubricant testing. 3) Ability to collaborate with the European team based in France for joint R&D projects, also the chance to lead your own R&D project if you are competent enough. 4) Company is generous in providing training - employees always have the chances to attend the training conducted overseas.
The challenges1) Very little chance for career development, which causing high turn-over rate among the experienced staffs that had served between 3-7 years. 2) Team in Malaysia is often left with lack of direction, focus, strategy and vision that sometimes can lead to frustration and the feeling of abandonment. 3) Plenty of grey areas on the job responsibilities - expect to work not only as the engineer but also as the project owner, regulatory affairs, procurements, purchasing etc., responsibility grows tremendously as your project moved to phase 3 and above. 4) Lack of communication between the departments as some of the departments are reporting directly to the corporate office based in Europe. 5) Most of the projects still depends heavily on the decision from the European counterpart, local team has little say which mostly only restricted to giving comments on technical aspect. 6) No real effort from the management to push for employees growth.

    Bad Culture and Environment
The good thingsThe only good thing I would say there are some good people that I know personally who is still stuck and not able to move. Either they are too comfortable or can’t secure something outside.
The challenges1. Culture is very bad. Work life balance is just on papers. On reality there is none. People just work as if they do not have anyone back home. Blaming culture is almost normal, hence people are scared to take responsibility to do anything safely. 2. Safety first is just a slogan. A lot of incidents swept under the carpet to make the company look good on papers. HSE is just too weak. In reality, it’s production first. Despite covid, the company was running with almost maximum manpower capacity. The only time the company was shut down is due to covid positive among the production team. No proper manpower management during covid I.e. 2 team concepts etc. 3. No engagement from management. Can see the management conveying info, giving trainings etc. just to complete their KPIs (tick in a box). Proper implementation or follow up is not there. If things go wrong, the blame is on the employee (you attended the training, you should know - attendance list).

    A young & growing company
The good thingsgood culture with friendly colleagues, surrounded by positive & supportive work mates, less office politic, most of the staffs are made up by young & ambitious people
The challengesthe company is considered as quite young in M'sia (<10 years) thus still on its way to establish a good foundation, less experience means lot of catch up to do to become as good as other well-known established company, it will also test your independent problem solving skill to the fullest thus will benefit you if you are a good thinker. A small number of employees also means be prepared to multitask.
