The challengesSalary Ceiling: OUM salary structures with defined ceilings for different positions. Reaching the salary ceiling can be a challenge if you're seeking significant salary increases over time. Solution: To overcome the salary ceiling, one common approach is to pursue higher qualifications or advanced degrees. OUM itself may offer opportunities for employees to further their education at reduced or subsidized rates. Limited Career Progression: In some cases, there may be limited opportunities for career progression within a specific department or role, which can affect salary growth. Solution: Consider exploring lateral moves to different departments or units within OUM that align with your skills and interests. Networking and building relationships with colleagues and supervisors can also help you learn about potential advancement opportunities.

    Owesome
The good thingsSharing knowledge and experience in general terms with others whoever they are, lecturers or students. We even exchange ideas on every matter that arises each time we sit on a table making discussion. Even the boundary of communication between the higher ranking person in the organisation tend to be not there because each one of us treats among ourselves equally without looking at the level of rank.
The challengesTime for both students and lecturers tend to not sufficient due to the fact that both parties having their own task of work. The time for both parties does not sync thus creation of appointment among them could not be established immediately either face-to-face or online. Relying only through messaging is the only tool that enables both parties to communicate effectively.

    Positive Vibe in Challenging Environment
The good thingsThe environment of the works and the company culture made me feel fun and happy to learn more about something new and help the organisation achieve the company goals. The coworkers are friendly and experienced, always supporting me to do something new and help me to gain the new knowledge in this area. It would be lovely to work with them even as a trainee but still I don’t forget to study and learn their strategy and idea to be always relevant in market and achieve their target.
The challengesThe challenging in this company is to achieve the target every semester and provide and maintain the best service to the client. The marketing of education are not same like the others, which it’s need something fresh and unique offer to attract the targeted person to be student at OUM, especially in Terengganu Learning Centre.

I have become skilled in handling students matters
The good thingsTeammate and employer are very helpful regarding to handle any cases that I have to face as I'm a new comer/employee. From them I manage to learn a lot of thing regarding to handle the students character and problem especially. This job scope also improved me a lot in writing as I also need to do reports, memos and some letters to inside and outsider management.
The challengesI just don't see yet anything reason to give to the company but I wish that I could be working there for more longer. I used to attend their interview for the second chance but not selected. Regarding the information that I have before they do not need any new employee at the moment but I don't understand why they keep for interviewing candidates. I a bit upset there.

    Part Time position in CIDT
The good thingsFlexible office start time and end time, as long as you complete 8 hours working. As part timer, flexibility in coming in 3 days per week. Not bounded by any contract. Full time staff testified the well off benefit that came with the position. Close knit community where the staffs know one another even from different departments. Regular training for inter-department helps this.
The challengesAs much as it's an open university concept which suppose to walk through with time and being modern, a lot of things such as administration, management and how things are handle are still traditional in a sense that it is a rigid hierarchy-like-management in which the top people has a higher value than the bottom. If you have work related issues or anything that need to be brought up, it must goes through the channel above you, then another stage, depending on if it is deemed important by the position above you or not. Working system is basically carved in stone and not much can be changed even if you suggest things for improvement of workflow and if you suggest something new and fresh, it's usually will not be considered. In certain department, too many managerial positions and less actual production worker (because they need to follow traditional system of ranking by qualification, seniority etc.instead of by performance) - this leads to too many heads making decisions, observing and managing lower level staffs, rather than getting the production done, in short too many managers micromanaging.

    Teaching
The good thingsFirstly, healthy working environment where all the people were very helpful. Next, it was fun experience with all the students there. I was there as an intern so I don't get much salary for that but I can ensure that their salary is very satisfactory. All in all, I enjoyed every single moment there where I gained many experience.
The challengesThe challenges was when I needed to evaluate the students, I am quite a strict marker so I tend to get a little bit of stressed when students didn't performed well. Overall, it was just normal challenging time when dealing with myself to come out with good lesson plans and up to date sources for face to face class.
