The good thingsSpecific task for each discipline such architecture, engineer, planner, quantity surveyor and etc. Have full dedicated person for each task. Senior staff have good knowledge and experience. Good on medical insurance and have opportunity to gain more knowledge with several courses and training. Systematic online system for filing and form.
The challengesToo many senior staff that possibilities slowed or blocked your promotion. Expectations from management is too high in order to achieve your key performance index. Usually involves with high profile project that need more efforts than normal working hours and environment.

Working for UEM Group of Companies
The good thingsThe company is well established and have a proper standard operating procedures. The employees enjoy good benefits in the sense of family well being and welfare. Also the training programs benefitted to the employees in various categories of staff level. Staff and management integration is excellent where the MD and higher management do take the trouble to initiate forums and interactions.
The challengesIt was difficult to get all departments in one path during execution of projects undertaken by the organization. Constant communication is needed to keep everyone in tune. The finalization of a project is a long tedious process but the end result is worth it.

    Geotechnical engineer
    Jul 2015
3 to 4 years in the role, former employee
I left only because I needed to grow..
The good thingsThe friendship and camaraderie. The active sports club. The human resource looked after the training needs of the staff. Procedures and systems were well implemented by the QA division.
The challengesDuring my time there were no bonuses given due to the Group's finance situation. Projects were a bit slow in forthcoming also due to economic situation at the time. After merger with a new parent company, there were too many staffs and some had to be idling or in a duplicate position.

    Good Company to work for.
The good thingsLots of benefits, almost like government servant. Involves in big and mega projects. Big company EPF contribution. Have bonus every year. Festival Loan
The challengesPoor career development opportunities. Only soft skill training ( in-house ) and very difficult to apply for real useful professional training. A very little space opening for permanent staff.
