There are opportunities for career development but heavy workload
The good things20 days annual leave, the company provide free parking, regular communication session between management and staffs whether company wide or one to one. Lots of cheap places to eat near office. Friendly colleagues.
The challengesHeavy workload, a lot of things are still done manually. Need to work overtime or bring work home most of the time in order to meet tight deadlines.

    Good teamwork and communication
The good thingsMost definitely working in a team and the encouragement in helping others even from other departments. Easy to adapt and very good work environment. Work time is not rigid and everyone seems to follow without problems. Recommended to work for long term though perseverance is recommended.
The challengesCareer path development a little lacking. Challenges were constantly the same problems. Needs more communication between departments especially on work system problems, not just the work itself. Also might feel a little bias on some departments. It's tolerable but do cause trouble at times.

Experience become an Editor at well-known company
The good thingsGood office-mates and seniors to teach, high quality of working style and protocols of management is very good. Very comfortable of working environment including the hospitality, condition and everything.
The challengesThe contracts workers are paid by daily day based on work they need to do. If there is no job, then you can;t earn money on that day. Then it will useless for going to the office. The contract worker should be thrown like that, instead giving immediately termination letter.

    Working culture is old fashion
The good thingsMost people in the office go back home early. Friendly co-workers 20 days of annual leave as minimum There is a lactation room and a special fridge for storing breastmilk
The challengesThe way the management work is outdated. They want to be MNC but still lots of manual work to do with unrealistic expectations. Not much guidance from the manager, only instructions. No company trips or annual dinner.

It is a place for career development
The good thingsI like the working hours (8am-5pm), the company is also flexible in working hours and also in terms of leaving the desk. Good working environment, you can come and leave office on time as long as your works done. It is a good experience working here since we all have so much things to learn.
The challengesToo many managers and sometimes you have to report to all of them. Might get confuse with the chain of power. Can be stressful when reaching deadlines.

    Positive experience
The good thingsMy boss lead by example. Every day I was determined to be more and more like her in my work ethics and practice. The working environment was very conducive and healthy, and relaxed for the industry we were in. Top management always gave extra support and listened to staff (employee engagement definitely mattered and counted for something). I certainly enjoyed my time there.
The challengesI only left because I felt my career progress was slow and the pay scale was average when compared to other companies in the industry. It was not an easy decision on my part.

    Learn, play and earn here!
The good thingsGood to be working here especially with the editorial and art & design department. Almost all of them are are kind, helpful and nice. You can come to work and leave on time as long as your work completed. No need to stay back for OT. We enjoy knowing each other from other department during the event as they love party. The medical benefit is awesome too. They covered RM10K for my spinal surgery.
The challengesPublishing company have tight schedule to be followed. You can come and leave on time but must make sure that the job is 100% perfect. You can bring home your job for OT. They always wanted an error-free end products from you as if you're too perfect. You can share all the opinions that popped up in your mind but do not hoping too much that it'll be accepted and applied, unless you are somebody.

    Growing with Oxford
The good thingsThe thing that I enjoyed most working here is the colleagues. They are more than just colleagues. They are a great bunch of people whom I can consider good friends. In fact, for those who have left - we still keep in touch and catch up outside. The perks working here are good though. I like the working hours (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm). There is also some amount of flexibility given.
The challengesLong service staffs could have been given more recognition by promotion and better salary package. Having to always step in for people in the department who leave till new hire comes in. And hiring a new person takes too long (months in fact). And then having to commit to training the new person. Turn over within the department is high.

Avoid This Company If You Don't Have Nerves of Steel
The good things1. Fixed working hours, clocking in at 8am and out at 5pm for most of the employees, which is good for working moms. Most of the staff don't stay around after 6 unless they are working extra hours for urgent projects. 2. Staff are friendly and accommodating. 3. A company that is understanding and flexible when it comes to leaving the desk to pray.
The challenges1. Too many managers and their overlapping areas of responsibility. At times, you have to answer to more than two managers. 2. The management's \"by hook or by crook\" attitude in getting projects completed, at the cost of employees' personal wellbeing. 3. Sadly, in certain departments too many times staff feel underappreciated for a job well done. Credit usually goes to the direct supervisor.
