PIA - A GOOD AIRLINEThe good thingsAs the office I worked in are branch offices of the head office, we have expatriates as bosses and they change every 5 years. The bosses are well groomed, friendly and they listen to you and what you have to say when they arrive so that they may adapt to the local business environment. Even though demanding, they are compassionate and supportive of the local staff.
The challengesCommunications are sometimes misunderstood due the different culture and background. As a staff here, I take time to learn their culture and language and it proves to be easier after that. The other thing that is difficult is when the new expat come in and the old expat has to leave. It is a very sensitive environment that one has to really watch what is exchanged and what is accepted.
