My Graduate-to-Professional Journey: Empowered by Mentorship
The good thingsI’m grateful to have joined the Graduate Trainee Program at Pan Malaysian Pools Sdn Bhd. This program has significantly eased my transition from university to the professional world through strong mentorship, hands-on learning, and exposure to data-driven tasks like Excel reporting, research and analysis. The opportunity to rotate across departments allowed me to explore various roles and better align my career path with my interests.
The challengesBeing a fresh graduate, adapting to the corporate environment, meeting deadlines, and handling complex Excel tasks were initial challenges. Department rotations also required quick learning and adaptability. These experiences ultimately strengthened my skills and resilience.

The good thingsSalary will be given on time. Have a good team to work. Helpful colleague. Good working environment.
The challengesPromotion in career is very hard to get. Need to be in same position for few years. No career advancement. Still need to follow old-fashioned system.

Backward and no opportunity for growth
    The good thingsGood benefits
The challengesBad working environment - too many too long serving staff there who are reluctant and resistance to change. All behave like they are king and Queen in the company but in actual fact they are redundant and if they were to go out they can't perform as they are outdated in knowledge and know how. Working there is like going back to 10 years behind.

The good thingsi am working in the Cheras Area Office and The culture of the office is fantastic. They encourage teamwork. Everyone is like a family member. When you wake up in the morning and go to work its just like going to another home. The manager had also done a great job in coaching and mentoring me. Whenever anyone face difficulty in work we help each other.
The challengesI have faced a change of management in the 5th year of my service with the company when new management came in and changed the whole culture of the organisation with a KPI Program. Throughout the new regime some of my fellow colleague was also given a mutual separation scheme. Everyone in the office work in fear, anger and agony which is very unpleasing.
