    No good team work between departments. Many last minute tasks given. Politic issues between colleagues.Friendly colleagues, and they are willing to teach if you don't have experience in certain field. The working culture is good, always prioritizes the most urgent tasks first.

    There is no Corporate Affairs Department. because there are only one Officer that will handle all the corporate affairs. No Team Whatsoever
    The good thingsThe staff there are all friendly and they have a great environment.
    The challengesThey are no team to work around. the work is always jumbled up and last minute there are no plans what so ever. If you are coming here to learn, you will be making a huge mistake because everything that the corporate affairs does there has no supervision at all, you need to learn all the task as you go because you need to do admin's work as well.

    The challengesThe works requires you to do admin stuff that wasn't supposed to be in your job description, without any supervision, to develop and train yourself without knowing right or wrong is a bad career progression. They have a low pay rate and does not hire any support positions even if you are doing a lot of thing at once

    The good thingsGood & helpful colleague. How the process of publishing a book in terms of cost and others are new thing and new knowledge i gain here, as well as accounting knowledge.
    The challengesto much thing to be achieved in one time. Something may need changes, but its still remains old school. Maybe hearing good suggestions from newcomer could make an improvement.

    Old styled company
    The good thingsFixed working hours. Just have your job done and nothing else to disturb you. Basically, this is a friendly and polite working environment as colleagues mostly are well educated
    The challengesLow pay, old-style management and no clear career path can be expected. Strict office regulations as well without any flexibility, just imagine you have backed to your school life (no mobile phone during working hours, fingerprint attendance...)

    Good place for first-time experience
    The good thingsLocated in the middle of the town, lots of area are easily accessible. Great working environment among department colleagues, also a good place to start a career experience and learn the basic ropes in the publishing world especially for interns. Learned a lot about the whole process from the manuscript stage to the end product quality checking.
    The challengesThere is a room for improvement in providing opportunities for career growth and excellence, could do better with appropriate recognition towards employees or organisational activities like team building, training etc. to keep them motivated and stronger. Also, the pressure is real during peak time, however there will be lack of deadlines during slow time somewhere in the year.

    I had a great time working in Pelangi Publishing Group
    The good thingsThe working environment there is great. They have their own canteen where it only provides breakfast and lunch. The carpark is very near to the workplace. It is very near to chinese restaurant as well.
    The challengesThe challenges were everytime there is a deadline, or any workload, it was given only a short period of time. To complete all of it was very stressful.

    Highly structured, Great place to pick up the basics.
    The good thingsEverything has a procedure. Master the procedure and that is enough. A highly disciplined working environment bent on high productivity results, Apr for the academic industry. Moderate amount of office events. Great for employees with family. Product discounts for employees are great savings.
    The challengesA better reward system, one that recognizes talent would be nice. The company does not push employees to excel and exceed, only to follow orders and procedures. Our younger youths might not be able to stay long in such a place because their efforts are not recognized. The salary is also not I. line with inflation rates and does not pull I. the sort of talent that would like to join this industry.
