    Poor employee engagement
    The good thingsThe company exercises flexible hours and people get to enjoy long or more breaks in between work.
    The challengesEmployee engagement frequency is pretty low and the boss doesn't tap onto the performance or well-being. There isn't a driven motivation for the staff and that causes the talent retention to be low. Benefits are there but it isn't extended to all the staff, so it is pretty much like not open to you unless you had some good grades or qualification. Opportunities to grow is low as you can only climb when someone left the job or retired. That is why staff turnover rate is relatively high.

    Stable company but limited growth opportunity
    The good thingsTransparent. Company objectives are well communicated to employees. Benefits are slightly above the norm. Company ensures employees feel secured through constant communication on company status (earnings, plans etc)
    The challengesLimited growth opportunity especially for administrative staffs as trainings are mostly geared to technical people (engineers). No promotion scheme. Complexities arise due to various and constant process changes mandated by the global office.

    Good work-life balance and benefits
    The good thingsOverall the company offers better benefits than most local companies out in the market. The working hours are also flexible, i.e. you don't have to start work at 8.30am sharp. You can report to work later and end work later. The colleagues are also very friendly and the environment is quite slack. The company used to have perks like unlimited beverages in the pantry but removed them due to abuse and cut cost (read challenges).
    The challengesAs the environment is quite slack, people are naturally lazy. There are colleagues who take advantage of this and have multiple tea breaks. Thus, productivity is low. And the management is not doing anything to curb this. So, there is hardly any career development. You can work for 10 years and still remain an engineer.
