Exciting, fun and unconventional for those who love to work with nature and the outdoors
The good thingsExhilarating, supportive, fun, professional, unconventional, meaningful.
The challengesNot much to say so far as an intern. But as an intern, there is pretty much minimal things that you can do as most work require officials and professionals to complete them so you may find yourself at a loss for a little bit. However, the staff will always be there to support you in everything you do.

Generally positive, just don't expect much growth as an intern.
The good thingsI was placed at one of the national parks. The staffs were nice and welcoming. Got to learn many things about management and conservation. No problem in that department. I was unlucky half way through my training covid happened. Since the park were quite far from major city and the roads to get there is still under Pan Borneo construction (as of my time there), the visitors were sparse after covid. If you're volunteering/intern at one of the parks, do note that not all would have accommodation. I was lucky enough to be housemates with one of the staffs, but be sure to ask first before applying.
The challengesThe facilities were quite dated and needs to be updated. Since the park is a place for people to hike, a vending machine or water spout would be nice.

    Not everyone can experience it.
The good thingsFriendly and supportive staffs, wildlife, nature, conservation works, patrolling work, maintenance of the wildlife centres, parks and sanctuaries, lunch hours
The challengesNot enough manpower, no vacancies open up to recruit more staffs, poor management because of these, salary might be low for some of the staffs.
