    Overall Good- will recommend
The good thingsGood working culture. Generally the seniors are supportive and do not hesitate to offer guidance. However, do not expect to be spoon-fed. Colleagues are typically supportive of each other as well. There is a strong sense of community and inclusivity among the lawyers at SLB, especially among those who were from the same pupillage intake. SLB is also a great place to learn and grow as a lawyer. Decent retention rate.
The challengesThere is an emphasis on hierarchy in the firm amongst some lawyers. Old technology- some computers given to pupils and even associates barely work. Incredibly inconvenient when trying to finish work urgently. This is not a negative point, but staying back late to finish the work assigned is necessary at times because of its urgency/ amount of work you have.

    People are friendly but wheether
The good thingsThe people here are generally very friendly. Whether you would be able to get along with a partner would differ depending on which partner you're working for. Work life balance also differs greatly depending on which department you're in. It is worth noting that the pupillage system here is a pen system where you're free to try out everything but there is an unspoken rule where you should always prioritise your own's dept work first. Personally think that there are pros/cons with this system.
The challengesYour stress level depends greatly on the department which you're placed in or the partner that you work for.

    Just a job
The good thingsGood performance will be rewarded but depending on how critical your position is. Work life balance, rarely need to stay back. Strategic office location.
The challengesTraditional narrow mindset, lacking basic technology and infrastructure, too rigid/no flexibility robotic office hours, hierarchy between lawyers and staff, hierarchy between senior staff and junior staff, not progressive and no growth opportunity

    UNFRIENDLY AND UNHELPFUL
The good thingsThe good thing working here is the system teaches you to be independent but there is no proper guidance given and staffs are not friendly and when it comes to work especially if you are a newcomer.
The challengesthe system needs a revamp, the computers seriously need to be upgraded to latest technology. The difficult part is most files goes missing and there is no proper filing system and no one will teach you the work even if they know that you have no particular experience in the specific area of practice,
