Working here is great if you have best manager and team members
The good thingsBest manager, best team members both KL and GR, best job, office at great location, accessible by LRT, cheap to expensive lunch available, easy to go window shopping, office have US working culture, management ok ok la, pantry only have coffee machine, nescafe and milo, no snacks, team members always help in resolving issues.
The challengesCareer development is challenging especially the promotion. You need to do something outstanding in order to be promoted.

The challengesNo way to move up unless top leadership really likes you. You work way more than 40 hours a week and the pay was terrible compared to other companies

    Individual growth and best teamwork
The good thingsThe best thing at Steelcase is your teammates will support you and willing to help if you have encounter difficulties. They will recognize every achievement you made. Besides, the environment is very fun. Can enjoy work life balance. Also good for fresh grad who wants to start their career.
The challengesSince they provide support service, you need to willingly follow other countries (Asia Pacific) timing as well. But no worry, they all very supportive.

Overall good company to work for
The good thingsVery solid company and great team to work on - there is a "family vibes" vs most service center which is more silo. I like that I get to see the whole order management process from pre to post-order, so you learn a lot. Management has paid more attention to communicate directly with employee than before that, I only deal with Team Leader.
The challengesSome of the tasks could be quite routine and it is not fun if you get an angry dealer. There are 20++ members in one department so you have to be outstanding and proactive to ask for projects to get promoted. Some of the leaders can be overly micromanaging. Benefit is average for service center

A wonderful experience for a first timer
The good thingsVery supportive colleagues with a wonderful working environment.
The challengesNothing much really. Being an internship student, I felt that maybe we can get more responsibilities that the permanent staff were handling as they were at times a little busy.

The challengesCompany provides remuneration package that is just adequate. If you're looking for challenging and rapid career expansion, this is not the place for you.

The good thingsOffice layout & traffic jam (if you like driving)
The challengesHQ-US seems to have many untold plans & strategies. Tend to sugar coat issues surrounding the business. Local managers are seriously lacking in people skill and humility. If seeking for a career growth opportunities, look elsewhere.

The good thingsGreat working environment and flexible working hours. Nice facilities as well and very convenient to have lunch as Midvalley shopping center is just next to our office.
The challengesThe challenges here are slow career path growth and really need to contribute personal time in order to get your work done nicely. Very rely on your relationship with other teams here, need strong bonding to get things done.

    Good working environment and experience
The good thingsTop management is very transparent regarding company status and direction. There are sessions for information sharing and feedback. Company also develops core values and communicates them well. Also enjoy the casual work attire.
The challengesRoles and responsibilities of each individual and department not being clarified adequately with a lot grey areas not addressed. There are initiatives to carry out problem solving and process improvement but lacks focus and empowerment.

The good thingsAs soon as you enter the company, there will be on-boarding program that will summarize what you need to know about the company, the regulations and all, but before that you will be need to access RedCarpet Onboarding - trust me , it will help you (oh btw, it is my internship projects so if there is any mistakes I am so sorry). You will meet several leaders and join the morning meeting. You can't expect wearing tux or fancy dress as you come in, usually they will wear jeans and collared t-shirt for both office and production floor staff. Talking about benefits, this company will treat you right. I have been going to several interview and I must say this is one of the best manufacturing plant that have good perks for their workers. Even though you are from another country they will still treat you right as they need to respect their policies. You will have tons of meetings including morning meeting, project meeting , town hall meeting , many meeting-lah. Trust me, it is good for your career development.
The challengesPayroll system is not fully handle by plant itself. When you have any problem related to salary, claim, etc you need to wait for HR in your plant deals with HR at The Garden's office. To tackle this, company may centralized the payroll process by plant. Any issues can be solve immediately and can save up some time.

The challengesrequire to with people with a different time zone (maybe need to have spend more time). not a good place for self development as you only focus on the smaller scope of task (high volume of transaction,).

Working with foreign countries is awesome!
The good thingsThis company have given me the experience to work with foreign people. Australia, New Zealand, Japan and China. Different people different countries, different lifestyle and culture. Different design works differently. I find the opportunities meeting and work with foreign clients is fascinating.
The challengesA problem should be solved with solutions, not excuse. There is always new solutions that can be applied to speed things up, and to improve our works. They should look into more solutions rather than giving excuses when they facing an issue in a project. Post mortem is useless if no improvements made. Its for the benefits of the company and our aim to win the projects.
