Junior Plant EngineerThe good thingsPlant is mostly manual with a little bit of automation.
Good for fresh graduates to learn on how a chemical plant operates.
Can go back on-time so work life balance is very good.
Have to learn everything from HR to Storekeeping of spare parts.
Office colleagues are very helpful. Easy to become good friends.
The challengesOperators show no respect and do not answer to you because you have no proper authority over them.
Cannot make any decisions on your own.
After about 4 months, learning is at a plateau because only single product line. No big improvements in overall production so as an engineer, there really isn't much work at all.
All jobs from complex (not much) to menial (all the time) will be done by the engineer with no help from operators. Most work is menial like taking things from storeroom to give to contractors, doing housekeeping etc
