Opportunity that I would definitely go through again
The good thingsIt practices an open environment where I could explore things not only in my area but others as well. I get to experience many industrial activities and enhancing my professional skills.
The challengesAs I represent my campus which is in Sarawak while their main office in Kuala Lumpur, it is quite difficult for us to meet and discuss often but nevertheless, technologies are what make things happen.

    Self development
The good thingsContinous support for self development. Learning to be selfless in giving back to the society.
The challengesWell, you can be extremely tired at times having to juggle teaching in school, studying for your teaching diploma and also tour commitment as a TFM fellow.

    Challenging but meaningful
The good thingsPersonal growth are being reflected and tracked all the time. You will be visionary and realise all the good things you have done and how you can improve it. You will always have supports in challenging situations and it is a family-like relationship with you, your colleagues and your superiors. You will meet different people and stakeholders.
The challengesYou will face many different stakeholder that will have different expectations from you. You will juggle with a variety of works that may not even be in your field of expertise. You will face a lot of frustrations and get over it just to face it again in the future. But all of this will make you grow mentally.

Exceeded my expectations of an NGO
The good thingsThe working culture here is so relaxed. They have a work-life balance with a considerable number of employee engagement activities within and outside the office. Employees are very friendly and helpful. Provides a great insight towards the challenge the nation is facing in terms of educational inequity. Working here makes you feel better about yourself because you will be able to contribute to the society towards a cause that you may not have been aware of in the first place.
The challenges1. The working hours are from 9 am to 6 pm with a one-hour break time. Though it may seem like they have long working hours, you will not even realise time passing by! Due to the flexibility in their working environment, you will have no issues with the working hours. 2. The biggest challenge is to stay committed to your work. The workload may seem heavy if you are not passionate or responsible for doing your job. Otherwise, it can be really fun and exciting to accomplish various targets set by the company.

    Best working environment!
The good thingsThe people at Teach For Malaysia are so amazing that they create an amazing culture. Everyone is always working together towards solving education inequity by building our nation through education. Teach For Malaysia is unlike any other organisation - it is a movement that's empowering our nation through education!
The challengesThe steep learning curve is both an advantage and a challenge for anyone who intend to work at Teach For Malaysia. It will push you to go beyond your boundaries and help you learn new things in a short time span but at the same time it can also be quite overwhelming, depending on how you cope with everything. It is essentially a fast-moving organisation.

    Great experience
The good thingsThe people and the passion they have to accomplish their goals. Working for the ultimate mission of the company which is to end education inequity is a great feeling and motivates you to be better. Knowing that working here would somehow effect Malaysians and the future generation for the better.
The challengesDecisions and ideas from top management are unique and fresh but lack sustainability in the long run. Understandbly a relatively young company of just 5 years, I feel they are going through a problem with upper management concerning hiring and working styles. For example at the moment it is more short term results thinking, rather than long term benefits for the company.
