Worst management and no team work
The good thingsI can't think of any good things at here
The challengesNo team work between all departments, when problems arise, they will only push the responsibility and never try to solve the problems. Worst management that I had ever seen.

    Terrible management and benefits
The good thingsLearn a lot of things because you need to do everything the higher management told you to do. You can be the security guard, lecturer, librarian, hospital admin, usher and driver while you are still required your own duty. No matter what you do or which department you are working at, you could be told whatever they want you to do.
The challengesHigher management do not trust their staffs, always think that the staff did not do their work. Micromanagement, lack of cooperation between departments. Need to cover work from other departments. No promotion, no increment. No benefits. Medical claim only few hundreds only. Work overtime. The higher management will require you to work at any time and any day, even it is you off day because they do not care about your own well-being.

    Challenging workplace
The good thingsGood salary range. Find your support group!
The challengesLack of teamwork between departments. High expectation with lack of resources. Processes not yet in place but job expected to be delivered on time and high quality. Lack of support within department and inter department. Will be judged if you leave on time but no OT or appreciation given for staying back

The good thingsyou get decent salary and have good prospect if you are a "yes man"
The challengesOverall, the location, management and everything is poorly managed and run. Don't dream of taking your your car for lunch break as you will spend the entire 1 hour looking for a parking spot. There is no pantry in some departments to have a peaceful meal. the in house store sells everything at high prices. Finding a parking spot inside the campus can be challenging. Lots of mosquitoes in the campus. They like to have lots of meetings and so where do we find time to actually "work" ??

For training purposes - YES .. Career enhancement - THINK AGAIN
The good thingsYou will be exposed to different kind of challenges. You will need to deal with every single thing. Which mean you will learn a lot about how to start running in this education industry. For fresh graduate who would like to explore education industry, this would be the best platform. Not forgetting the amount of training available (Outsource training) in the company, which normally is free of charge! You can definitely up your skills and knowledge through this platform.
The challengesDo not expect work life balance, they will juice you out. They have the worst benefits in the industry, I mean one of the worst in education line. Policies are bad too, more towards the top management and company, quite saddening as HR suppose to protect the employee benefits. Reward system is bad as well, can't believe the management actually told us that "The company is making profit but it got nothing to do with you all, it's all because of how the company have cut the expenses, hence, the bonus and increment are as such" (Note: Even when number increase by 30% compare to last year ya) This company needs to know how to appreciate the ground staff instead of keep boosting the top management. Foundation of a company is very important, when the foundation (ground staff) is shaken, whoever sitting on top will eventually fall as well. I really hope that the top management will do a review on their current performance and try to understand why the turnover rate in UCSI is so high and HR is always having problem in hiring new staff. Better start listen to what the industry said about UCSI. Understanding the external factors DOES MATTER! Best of luck from me - Signing out from UCSI!

You will enjoy the job if you like education field
The good thingsThe environment, flexibility, not overly stress. Anyone who work with education sector will know the satisfaction that they will get from this area.
The challengesThe management like to pick you, find your flaws/ department issues. They should just do what they suppose to do but not bullying others. They expect high profits, but they are not willing to hire man powers to work and archive the target.

    Educational and lovely place!
The good thingsThe supervisors and the lab technicians were really helpful and friendly. Workplace was lovely as well. Not to forget that as a research assistant, you will learn a lot as most of the procedures have to be conducted based on your own literature reviews from articles of various journals. However, the role overall, is very interesting and educative at the same time.
The challengesWorking as a research assistant (RA) can be tedious. The equipment in the laboratory could be upgraded/calibrated regularly as some of the equipment (i.e. micropipettes, etc.) don't seem to work properly. Certain chemicals were not in the inventory as well even though the chemicals were purchased personally by the supervisors. Hope this issue would resolve in the future.

An environment to bring yourself to next level
The good thingsI was given the opportunity to take lead and voice out idea to immediate superior. Have been guided by superior in documentations preparation, and management level to look into a bigger picture which prepare me for better future career path. Nice colleagues and teamwork which encourage me to break my bottle neck. Medical benefit given is also an added point, may use to subsidy our supplementary vitamins.
The challengesSometimes the limitation of resources makes challenges in achieving our plan.

    Fine starting job
The good thingsI had a good supervisor and colleagues which guided me. The facilities in the lab were adequate and schedule were well organised with flexible working time as well as no unnecessary pressure when working independently.
The challengesThe lack of direction of the directing board and difficulty in career progress as a lab technologist. Furthermore, the lack of communication between different labs makes things complicated for lab bookings and proceedings.

    An uphill battle
The good thingsSome colleagues are friendly. There is water available to drink. There is always toilet paper in toilets.
The challengesManagement is not flexible and does not know how to say no. Too many red tape when trying to do things. Too many channels to get things done. Other offices are not cooperative. Understaffed and no time for yourself. Facilities and tools are not well maintained.

The challengesThe management either at the chancellery or faculty level, too individualist, young is energetic but inexperience, young due to its inability to keep talent, the good often leave, the average one will stay longer, politics is out of hand - likely promoted by the leadership
